The aim of this study is to provide an overview of regional inequalities in healthcare services in Türkiye based on mortality statistics. In this regard, the distribution of causes of death in Türkiye for the period 2018-2023 has been evaluated in the following categories: circulatory system diseases, benign and malignant tumors, respiratory system diseases, nervous system and sensory organ diseases, endocrine diseases, nutrition and metabolism-related diseases, external injuries and poisonings, COVID-19, other diseases, and unknown diseases. According to the results of the study, circulatory system diseases rank first in all regions and account for a significant share of causes of death in Türkiye. Other findings include that tumors and respiratory system diseases rank second in causes of death, deaths due to external injuries and poisonings are higher in the Southeast Anatolia and Mediterranean regions, and deaths due to other causes are higher in the Marmara, Eastern Anatolia, and Southeast Anatolia regions.
