Abstract

This article compares traditional and agile project management approaches and examines how agile methodologies deliver more effective results in today's dynamic and uncertain project environments. While traditional project management relies on detailed planning and rigid processes, agile methodologies stand out with their flexibility, customer focus, and rapid feedback mechanisms. The study examines the structures, advantages, and processes of common agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban, and examines agile project management software such as Jira, Trello, Asana, and MS Project. Furthermore, the study examines the cultural and organizational challenges encountered in agile transformation processes, emphasizing the critical role of organizational cultural alignment, team training, and the right tool selection for the success of these processes. This study compares traditional and agile project management methodologies, demonstrating that contextual suitability is a determining factor in method selection. Findings indicate that agile approaches, particularly Scrum and Kanban, provide greater adaptability and success in projects characterized by uncertainty. Furthermore, the effectiveness of agile practices is directly related to organizational structure, cultural factors, and the management of transformation processes.
